This beautiful thirst-quencher is composed of 50 year old Melon de Bourgogne vines. The vines are harvested and sorted by hand, then slowly pressed to and rested for at least 9 months on the lees. A soulful and beautiful expression of old vine Melon.
- Marc Pesnot farms 22 hectares of 50 year old Melon de Bourgogne vines within the city of Nantes, he eschews the AOC labeling system as the minimum restriction of yield is quite high, demanding larger production wines.
- His old vines grow on schist soils, which gives them concentration and minerality.
- Marc’s philosophy is all about low and slow winemaking, as the mass produced high volume approach so common within the region doesn’t do Melon de Bourgogne justice.
